Over our more than 60 years in business, we’ve made a ton of friends all across the cycling industry and beyond. We think our friends are pretty special, and we want to share their stories, experiences, and businesses with the Turin family.
Friends of Turin is a community hub where we bring together projects and people who inspire us and who make a meaningful impact on cycling, Chicago, and beyond.
We are a nonprofit that leads bike adventures to immerse and educate in local history and nature.
As a community organization, we aim to immerse, educate, and preserve the history, culture, trails and native habitats of the Lower Lake Michigan Basin Area through exploratory bike adventures. Established in 2015 , we now have many different resources, events, and programs we offer to the public.
Out our Front Door: Mission
Out Our Front Door welcomes you to join us on our immersive, inclusive, and educational bike camping adventures. We aim to deepen your reverence for the region by exploring local trails while learning about the culture, history, and habitats native to the beautiful Lake Michigan area and beyond.
Bill Humphreys: The Real Bike GUy
A once hard-living, hard-drinking truck driver turned one of the pioneers of elite professional cycling in the United States, Bill spins stories about wild nights and fierce competitions, and tales filled with echoes and irony as he becomes a father and returns to a big rig in his 60s. Bill has crammed the lives of 9 or 10 men into his 80 years and continues putting more pages into his remarkable life on the bike and off.
